2024: Kuan Yin and the Healing Powers of Buddhist Goddesses
With Laurie Sue Brockway
Female deities are revered in Buddhism. In this presentation you will meet Kuan Yin, the Buddhist goddess of compassion, mercy, and healing. Known as a "compassionate savioress," she has been worshipped for centuries throughout China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Her name is translated as the being "who hears the cries of the world." She is known also as Quan Yin, Guanyin, Kannon, and Avalokiteshvara, and is considered a universal goddess. A legend tells us that she once walked the earth as Miao Shan, a maiden princess who died. As a human being who completed all karma and reached enlightenment, she was considered a Bodhisattva. She vowed to remain on earth until all suffering was ended.
- Learn about Kuan Yin's history, mythology, and cultural heritage.
- Explore ancient spiritual practices, mantras, and meditations.
- Discover why compassion and self-compassion are healing.
- Meet other powerful female deities in the Buddhist pantheon.
- Partake in a ritual to call in compassion and healing.

Don't miss all the other offerings at the 2024 Goddess Conference. You can susbscribe to their new Goddess Web here.
I have spent a great deal of time researching Kuan Yin and all the Boddisatvas and goddesses of Buddhism. I would like to share some of my research and photos for anyone who would like to discover more on this topic. See the links below!
